Chu Yan Feng transmigrates into a danmei novel as the cannon-fodder senior brother, who is used as a cultivation tool and exploited to death.
In the original story, the cannon-fodder senior brother is used up by his martial uncle and second junior brother early on. After finally succeeding to the position of sect leader, he is forced to watch footage of himself being humiliated at the Immortal Sect Assembly, exposing his Taiyin constitution.
In the end, the people of the cultivation world join forces for their own gain, imprisoning him and using him as a cultivation tool until he dies.
Chu Yan Feng arrives on the first night of this nightmare.
He doesn’t dare stay a moment longer. He packs his things and rushes straight to the room of his junior brother, the original story’s protagonist shou.
Chu Yan Feng: Junior Brother, let me crash here for, say, a million nights.

Yan Jue has a dream.
In it, he is the protagonist shou of a romantic tale about two men, adored by the entire cultivation world but also coveted and fought over by countless powerful cultivators.
Among them are the Demon Venerable, the Sword Venerable, the Demon Emperor, and many others.
But he doesn’t care how much any of them love him. All he can see is his pitiful senior brother, whose Taiyin constitution has been discovered.
After waking, Yan Jue opens the door and sees his unharmed senior brother. Smiling brightly, he asks,
“I’m afraid of the dark. Can I sleep with you?”
Yan Jue lets Chu Yan Feng in and stands in front of him.
Once becomes twice. From then on, Yan Jue shields him from every storm.
Later, Yan Jue realizes he has feelings for his senior brother, but he doesn’t fight them. He lets the seed of love take root and grow.
He tells himself only that none of the disasters from his dream will ever befall Chu Yan Feng.
Reading notes:
They are each other’s first love. One-on-one romance. The shou is the original character, but he never experiences the original novel’s plot.
Other characters will covet the shou because of his cauldron constitution, though there are no romantic feelings involved. Please take note if this is a concern.
A seemingly aloof but inwardly possessive junior brother x a beautiful senior brother who seems honest, slow-witted, and quiet but has a very active inner monologue. The couple is endgame. No switching or breaking them up in any form.
