Blurb One:
Jiang Ning, a soon-to-be first-year medical student, has allergies that make it inconvenient for her to live in a dorm.
Her father reassured her, "Your uncle found you a place. It's a friend's house, near your school. Someone lives there, but they're rarely home. They're a police officer, so it's absolutely safe."
When Jiang Ning heard it was a police officer, she was instantly impressed. "Is it a policewoman?" she asked.
Her father faltered. He hadn't actually asked. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Probably."
Jiang Ning had been living there for almost a week and, sure enough, hadn't seen the other person come home.
One night, she heard a noise in the house and was startled. Then she thought her new roommate had come home, so she sleepily got up to say hello.
She froze at the doorway. In the dim light of the wall lamp, the person standing there was clearly a man. They faced off in the dark. Jiang Ning turned and went back to her room, then dialed the number she had never called before with trembling fingers.
A phone rang in the living room. Jiang Ning froze. She opened her mouth and called, "Big sister..."
Lu Zhixing switched on the light and saw a little girl in bear pajamas, her hair sticking up in every direction.
He smiled. "Who are you calling big sister?"
His voice was low and a little cold. He was unmistakably a man.
Blurb Two:
Lu Zhixing, captain of the criminal investigation squad, is young, accomplished, and handsome. The only thing is, he has no interest in women and refuses to go on the blind dates his superiors set up for him.
"Captain Lu, you're not dating anyone?"
Lu Zhixing's voice softened a little. "I don't have time. I've got a kid to look after."
The whole squad was shocked. Since when did Captain Lu have a child?
Blurb Three:
Lu Zhixing was injured while making an arrest. When he went to the hospital, he happened to run into Jiang Ning, who was doing her internship there. She saw his injury and her eyes turned red.
Lu Zhixing gently took her hand. "Don't look. Have someone else bandage me."
The squad member accompanying him stared in astonishment. Later, he quietly asked, "Captain Lu, who was that girl?"
Lu Zhixing: "The kid at my place."
[Jiang Ning] When seventeen-year-old Jiang Ning met Lu Zhixing, it was like a gentle breeze passing through her world, stirring her heart. He was like orange soda on a summer day, bubbles rising with the slightest shake. Afraid of being found out, afraid of losing him, she kept her feelings hidden for a long time.
