Flowers in the Palace

Song Ruozhao devoted herself to teaching the imperial grandson, Li Chun, and exhausted herself planning for his future.

Li Chun ascended the throne.

Everyone inside and outside the palace thought Song Ruozhao had finally come through all her hardships to enjoy a happy life.

In a hidden underground palace, there stood a bed so large that ten people could lie on it without feeling cramped. At each corner was a bronze pillar so thick that two grown men could barely wrap their arms around it. Four thin steel chains were fastened to the pillars, each one shackling one of Song Ruozhao's hands or legs.

Song Ruozhao: “Let me go.”

Li Chun: “Impossible. If I can't have your heart, then I'll have your body.”
