The Beauty's Tomb

Lu Jianli, Vice Minister of Justice, is a ruthless official. Skinning, boiling, breaking the spine, pouring molten lead, and other horrifying punishments: he carries them out without batting an eye. Women turn pale at the mention of Lu, and no one dares get close to him. With her father wrongly executed and her mother missing, Cheng Guiwan has nowhere left to turn. She uses her beauty as bait to seek refuge with Lu Jianli. "Lord Lu, could you please stop being so gentle?" Lu Jianli: "All right." So he gets as ruthless as he can. Cheng Guiwan: This could kill me. Hello, everyone~ This story will be complete on the 5th (Friday), when it will go behind a paywall. Thank you for all your support~ My upcoming historical romance, A Mirror of Flowers and Moonlight, is open for readers to check out~ Cui Fufeng is sabotaged by her half-sister and stepmother. On her wedding day, the groom is absent, and her brother-in-law stands in for him. As they are about to perform the wedding rites, news arrives that her husband has died. Her half-sister and stepmother rejoice, expecting her to spend her days weeping and struggling through widowhood. Before they can enjoy their triumph, Cui Fufeng takes over as head of the family in her late husband's place. Then rumors spread that Tao Bainian, an unattainable man whom countless women adore, is in love with Cui Fufeng. Her half-sister and stepmother panic and send someone to investigate. Cui Fufeng's answer is: "Remarry? I'm not interested." As a mirror enthusiast, Tao Bainian has no interest in anything but bronze mirrors. "I like Cui Fufeng? How could that be? No woman is as beautiful as a bronze mirror." Later, he says, "Of course, Cui Fufeng can hold her own against a bronze mirror." Later still, he says, "No matter how beautiful a bronze mirror is, it can't compare to Cui Fufeng." Theme: By showing the heroine's transformation from seeking justice and revenge for herself to caring about the greater good of her country, this story condemns the dark and ugly side of human nature and conveys a positive yearning for justice and light.
