The Falling Stars of Britannia

What does war mean to you?

Aquila Diana Archer merely fell silent at the question.

If the war had never begun, she would simply have been an English young lady studying at university in Zurich. After graduating, she would become a writer, compose an epic poem about European history, and marry Heinrich, the man she loved most. Her eldest brother Regulus would take her by the hand and fulfill their father's duties, while her second brother Ares would use the telescope said to be the finest in Europe to break the legs of any man who tried to court his sister.

But the war began, and Europe's lights dimmed.

As one battle after another broke out, no one could escape.

Aquila: the Eagle constellation, and a daughter of the Archer family.

In this darkest of times, I met you, a light who had fallen into darkness.

The little Eagle of England chose to take to the battlefield as a pilot. The stars of Britain chose to fall, illuminating the gloom of World War II.

Content warning:

Set in Europe during World War II.

Apart from the male lead's name and family, and the university attended by the ensemble cast, most elements are fictional, though the story is still grounded in this historical period.

The female lead has sound values!!!

This is a story set during World War II. It is, more or less, a historical novel, not some Mary Sue fantasy.

There are both BG and BL relationships. I'm not writing this to ship men together, thank you. Nazi Germany was extremely cruel to its own people, too.

To reiterate:

This is an alternate-universe World War II fanfiction. Please don't conflate it with real people.

Theme: May there be peace in the world
