Synopsis

In the first year after graduating from college, I failed the judicial examination. After painfully reflecting on it, I made a bad decision that I would almost regret for the rest of my life. I moved house. My new home was in a shabby apartment building that was fourteen years old. On my first day there, a neighbor came over to introduce herself. Her bratty son was only ten that year. The two of them relied on each other, and had already lived in the building for several years. People say sons look like their mothers, but I just couldn't see any resemblance between these two. My neighbor was plain-looking but kind, always smiling. Her bratty son was the complete opposite. Even at such a young age, he was full of himself. He had a pretty face, but was always glaring at people from under lowered eyelids. He wasn't just badly behaved, he also hated talking, and couldn't even be bothered to greet people when he ran into them.
