Love at First Sight

Age gap / spoiled, bratty young woman vs. doting, fatherly tycoon When she was twenty, Song Man attended a gala for renowned alumni of Hai University. Dressed in a light, flowing dance costume, she danced on tiptoe, captivating everyone with every glance and smile. After her performance, her mentor, who had always treated her well, brought her to the VIP section to greet the business tycoon of Haicheng, Huo Jingwang, a man who could wield enormous influence with a single hand. Their hands clasped. With a faint smile, Huo Jingwang said politely, "If you ever have any trouble, you can come to me." It was just a polite remark, so Song Man naturally didn't take it to heart. Over the next month, Song Man's life changed dramatically. Her boyfriend of four years cheated on her. Her father's company suddenly ran out of funds and faced bankruptcy, and debt collectors started showing up at their door, making life unbearable for the whole family. The once-blessed girl fell from the clouds. With nowhere else to turn, Song Man thought of Huo Jingwang, whom she had met briefly a month earlier. On a rainy night, Song Man stopped Huo Jingwang's car. The most distinguished man in Haicheng came to stand before her, holding a black umbrella. Song Man was soaked through. Her eyes shimmered with tears and mist as she pleaded in a trembling voice, "Mr. Huo, please help me." Huo Jingwang took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the rain from her face. In an unhurried voice, he asked, "What can you give me?" Song Man clung to his neck, looking fragile. "Mr. Huo, I'll do anything." Where she couldn't see, the curve of Huo Jingwang's lips slowly widened. He patted her head. "Good girl." At last, he had her. Later, whenever Huo Jingwang held her tightly, sweat beading on his temples, he would make her listen again and again to the story of how he fell in love with her at first sight. Song Man would grit her teeth in anger. "What do you mean, love at first sight? You're just making excuses for being attracted to my looks!" Huo Jingwang replied, "I can be attracted to you for the rest of my life." Huo Jingwang kept his word. He cherished Song Man for the rest of her life, spoiling the already pampered daughter of the Song family until even her parents couldn't stand her spoiled little antics.
