The Tragic Novel's Heroine Doesn't Want a Painful Romance

"I'll die with you... but she can't stand pain, so I can only save her!"

On the cliff.

Qiao Zhu watched as the man before her gazed at her with deep affection, his expression torn with pain, yet he rescued another woman without hesitation.

Left alone to face an uncertain fate, with the cliff's edge just ahead and death looming

A sharp pain seized her heart, and Qiao Zhu suddenly spat out a mouthful of black blood.

Then she remembered she was the heroine of an old-school tragic romance novel:

Ruan Jingyao was a handsome, wealthy CEO. He and Qiao Zhu had been childhood sweethearts, betrothed since they were young.

Years later, he went abroad on a business trip and returned with another woman who was pregnant.

On their wedding day, kidnappers sent by a rival tied them up on a cliff, but Ruan Jingyao chose the other woman without hesitation.

Heartbroken, Qiao Zhu and Ruan Jingyao became trapped in a painful push-and-pull romance.

She ran, he pursued her, and their love went from angst to coercive possession.

Finally, after schemes, a miscarriage, and a life-or-death struggle, Ruan Jingyao regretted everything. He nearly died for Qiao Zhu!

Only then did Qiao Zhu realize that Ruan Jingyao had always loved her. He loved her so deeply and considered her one of his own, which was why he'd ignored her feelings!

And so they got a happy ending...

Qiao Zhu, right now: I can't be happy!

On the cliff

Everyone saw the woman who had been so frail and grief-stricken suddenly wipe away her tears after Ruan Jingyao abandoned her. She threw caution to the wind and told the kidnappers:

"I know all of Ruan Jingyao's business plans. Whoever saves me gets all that confidential information!"

As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Qiao Zhu didn't give it much thought. She just wanted to take Ruan Jingyao down first!
