The Waterside Pavilion Murder Case

The instant the door was kicked open, Li Jialu knew he would never forget what he saw.

A young woman stood in the entryway. Her white dress was splattered with blood, and the knife in her hand clattered to the floor. She gazed over with empty eyes, like a puppet whose soul had been pulled out.

In the living room lay two mangled bodies.

One had been reduced to a head, neatly placed on the table, its eyes facing the other headless body.

Three cups of tea, long gone cold, sat on the table.

She was the only survivor at the scene, and the person closest to both victims.

On his first day at a crime scene as a newly hired detective, Li Jialu encountered a case like this. Everyone said she was the killer. The motive, the timing, the evidence: everything pointed to her.

But she just kept repeating one thing:

"I don't know... I really don't know..."

When the midnight bells ring, the mystery of Shuixie Mansion has only just begun.
