After She Proved Her Way to Immortality, the Immortal Sect Fell to Its Knees

At five years old, Shi Wei was brought back to Taiqing Sect.

The elders of Taiqing Sect told her that she was fated to be lonely, and that only a cultivation sect could suppress her destiny. She believed them.

After ten years of grueling cultivation, she became the sect's youngest prodigy, blessed with extraordinary spiritual roots and unmatched swordsmanship.

She thought this was her home.

Until the day her junior sister's spiritual roots were destroyed.

Her master and junior brother joined forces and, ignoring her desperate pleas on her knees, forcibly extracted her spiritual roots and gave them to the junior sister.

"Shi Wei, you're gifted. You can cultivate again."

Cultivate again.

She became a cripple, struggling to survive at the very bottom of the sect, while watching her junior sister bask in glory on the strength of the spiritual roots stolen from her.

That day, the sky was clear at the Dao-Seeking Platform. Her junior sister won first place, and the senior brother she admired, beaming with pride, took her hand and announced his engagement to the junior sister before the whole platform.

Standing below, Shi Wei suddenly laughed.

So they had brought her back to the sect just to build her up before tearing her down. So her junior sister's spiritual roots had never been destroyed. The real plan had always been to steal Shi Wei's.

Was anything in Taiqing Sect real?

She swept away, turned around, and never looked back.

Later, the cultivation world came to know of a cripple whose spiritual roots had been ripped out, yet who carved a bloody path forward, reforged her spiritual roots, comprehended the sword and sought the Dao, killing anyone who stood in her way.

Someone asked her why she refused to give up.

"Because all I want is to stay alive!"
