Jade Hall Spring

A domineering, willful heroine x a lovesick, unhinged hero

Shen Mingchun, the legitimate daughter of the Shen family, was raised by the Empress Dowager from childhood. Arrogant and willful, she looked down on everyone and roamed Jinling City without fear of anyone daring to cross her.

What's more, she kept Jiang Bei, the young son of Lord Jiang, by her side like a dog, ordering him around without a second thought.

Her behavior was nothing short of vile.

Later, Jinling fell and the Empress Dowager's faction declined. The boy who had once let her beat and berate him had grown into a mighty general.

His brows were proud, his whole body radiated menace, and a hundred thousand cavalry advanced on the city gates like a dark cloud.

Everyone said that without her powerful backers, Shen Mingchun was sure to die beneath Jiang Bei's horse.

But the young general dismounted, reined in his bloodlust, and bowed his head to Shen Mingchun as she calmly emerged from the Shen residence. He called her "Elder Sister" in a restrained, obedient voice.

The world knew he had served Shen Mingchun, but not how the Jiang family had bullied him when he was falsely accused.

Shen Mingchun had pulled him out of that mire.

She rescued him from the Jiang family, taught him literature, cleared his name, and gave him everything she could besides status and position.

He was born into an endless, pitch-black night and had long grown accustomed to the sinister darkness of the mire. Then he met the brightest light in the world, and he refused to let go, even unto death.

Though the young woman was noble and untouchable, and had never even spared him a glance, he always remembered her sitting in her carriage, casually telling a noble young lady, "Being empress would be wonderful."

He remembered those words for years.

He toppled the imperial court, killed the foolish emperor, and brought peace to a realm in chaos. He lay in wait for ten years, all for the sake of those words.

And more than anything, so he could...

Stop calling her Elder Sister.
