Killua and the Road to Nowhere

Note: This story uses the characterizations from before chapter 290 of the Hunter manga. If you haven't read the manga, or are interested, you're welcome to start with this analysis of the differences between the characters. Analysis of the differences between Killua in the anime and manga <= Click here to enter the world of an obsessive canon researcher XD [The Chinese-class version of the blurb] Judging by the title, this is a transmigration story set in a completely different world. It tells the story of a child who, for some reason, goes to a world he doesn't know in search of something he doesn't even know what it looks like. In that world, he undergoes changes he himself can't make sense of, meets people he can't understand, and encounters others whom he himself can't understand. When they differ completely in everything from physical abilities to mental outlook, what kind of future can they forge? ★ The hidden Gon/Killua pairing runs throughout. **Take your time with the related content. It's a slow burn, with so much canon research, setting analysis, and explanation that it can get annoying. If you're looking for an all-powerful Mary Sue, there's nothing for you here. Feel free to run toward the horizon. Currently updating daily, with occasional double updates when inspiration strikes. Unless a new chapter is added, other edits are generally bug fixes and typo corrections. You're welcome to help catch errors and offer suggestions. P.S. Killua is sixteen here, with the maturity of someone who's grown up. If you want to read about a lonely child deprived of love, a version from the anime who ignores people for ages when they ask his name, or a kid who can be lured away with sweets, please look elsewhere. This story features only the cheerful, smiling child from the manga, who is like that from his first appearance, and a slightly older Killua who's grown again after being tempered by the Chimera Ant arc. P.P.S. This story has no all-powerful protagonist, no overwhelming worldbuilding, and no unlimited golden finger. If you want to see some kid take Hogwarts by storm and make everyone bow at his shorts, click the little red X in the upper right. To everyone who stays, let's explore together how abilities and ways of thinking collide across different worlds. Feel free to leave any interesting ideas, suggestions, or bug reports. ^^ This story officially became a paid work on December 25, 2009. If you've reposted it, please take it down. I'll maintain the quality of updates after it goes paid and will absolutely not abandon it. Also: Paid stories can give away a limited number of points each month, so they're given first to long reviews and canon research. Thanks for your support. For anyone who doesn't know how to top up your account: I recommend online banking, Alipay, or bank or post office transfers. These let you add smaller amounts and are good value. 10 RMB = 1,000 Jinjiang coins. I really don't recommend topping up by phone. I think you only get half...
