The Villain Is Forced to Become Everyone's Favorite

Gu Xiqiu discovers that he has become the villain in a book. He diligently plays his role every day, and finally completes his mission to frame the protagonist and demote him to a mortal.

Just as he’s congratulating himself on being able to go home, he realizes: Why is he still here?!

Gu Xiqiu is devastated, because he knows that Que Chenting’s demotion to mortality is only a low point in his protagonist career. He’ll soon ascend again and become a major figure who rules the three realms.

When that happens, he’s sure to come looking for revenge.

So Gu Xiqiu disguises himself as an ugly monster and keeps a low profile among mortals, hoping Que Chenting will never think of him again.

But on the ninth day after falling into the mortal realm, a blood-soaked young man stumbles into his dilapidated temple and begs Gu Xiqiu to save his life.

Gu Xiqiu takes a closer look.

Damn!

Gu Xiqiu, who has done every kind of wicked thing, expects to be hunted by all three realms. Who could have guessed that the story would veer further and further out of control?

His childhood sweetheart, who should have despised him, learns he’s gone and abandons everything to defy her clan for his sake.

His sworn enemy, who has always opposed him and would love to tear him limb from limb, claims to be hunting him but actually wants to make him his own.

The cultivators who call him an ugly monster are left slack-jawed when they see his true face, and their attitudes change completely.

And then there’s Que Chenting, the protagonist he’s tricked several times over...

“If you keep this up, I’ll... I’ll...”

Gu Xiqiu is held fast from behind, unable to move. As Que Chenting threatens him again and again in a voice that sounds almost pleading, he bites down on Gu Xiqiu’s neck. In that moment, his burning anger and boundless hatred vanish.

At last, Gu Xiqiu, who is crying his eyes out from the pain, understands.

So he wasn’t given the villain’s script after all!
