Kissing Beneath the Aurora

In Reykjavik, just two degrees of latitude from the Arctic Circle,

Lu Qi sat at her computer and typed a line:

"Mr. Zhou, tonight beneath the aurora, I can finally breathe again. It suddenly hit me that I want to see you, and I want to spend my life with you."

Five minutes: just enough time for Zhou Ye to race back from the embassy.

He crossed the crystal-clear glass window and held Lu Qi tightly in his arms.

The young woman kissed him beside the ear.

"Mr. Zhou, I really like you."

Lu Qi was sent to Iceland as an exchange student for a year.

On her first day of school, customs lost her luggage, and the few documents and the wallet she had on her were stolen on the street.

Alone in a gloomy foreign country, Lu Qi had no choice but to seek help from the Chinese embassy.

"Xiao 67? What are you doing here?"

Zhou Ye wore nothing but the gray outdoor jacket most commonly seen in the country, yet he stood out brightly from the crowd.

Lu Qi threw herself into Zhou Ye's arms, craving his warmth.

She had secretly loved him for fifteen years. She never imagined their reunion would find her in such a sorry state.

"Then stay with me for now. I mean, I'll sleep on the sofa."

That day, Zhou Ye took Lu Qi, like a little white dog caught in a storm, to his seaside villa.

They could be considered childhood friends, yes, childhood friends with a five-year age gap.

"Xiao 67, no drinking."

"Xiao 67, it's normal to do badly on an exam."

"Xiao 67, confess under the aurora, and you'll spend your lives together."

Lu Qi really liked the phrase "spend your lives together."
