The Moon Tonight

Shen Xinyue devoted herself wholeheartedly to Qi Yaoye. As the sharp blade in Qi Yaoye's hand, she had never hesitated for even a moment.

If gods stood in her way, she killed gods. If Buddhas stood in her way, she killed Buddhas.

After a calamity befell them, Shen Xinyue was on the verge of death, yet Qi Yaoye did not spare her even a single glance.

Her heart died along with her body.

Then one day, she was reborn. She decided to live for herself.

She no longer cared about demon lords, or right and wrong.

Shen Xinyue traveled the world above and below, sampled every delicacy under the sun, and watched the battles between the righteous and the wicked.

She did whatever she wanted, with no rules to follow.

She would save a righteous cultivator she took a liking to, and refuse a demon lord she felt no fondness for.

"I'm injured. Aren't you going to save me?"

"...Surely Your Excellency, the Demon Lord, doesn't need me to save you?"

Qi Yaoye, leaning against a tree, suddenly stood up and gathered her spiritual power into a sword, taking her place before Shen Xinyue.

Shen Xinyue looked at her. "Are you going to kill me?"

Qi Yaoye's sword point shifted slightly. "If you won't save me, I'll kill them."

Shen Xinyue raised an eyebrow at the Demon Lord, who was perfectly intact save for a small scrape on her hand.
