The Idle Consort Only Wants to Retire

Tang Zhishu transmigrated into a harem-intrigue novel full of men besotted with its heroine.

But she wasn't the heroine. She was the cannon-fodder Noble Consort who loved the emperor, made a scene at every turn, and eventually lost her family and died of illness amid ice and snow.

Looking at the little princess in her arms, as cute as a ball of glutinous rice, Tang Zhishu planted her foot on the plot. Why fight for the emperor's favor? Wasn't raising her daughter as a happy slacker enough?

Li Hongyao had always thought Noble Consort Tang was a ruthless woman who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted.

Then one day, he possessed his daughter, Li Qinghuan, and discovered that Noble Consort Tang was so genuine and unpretentious, and so unwaveringly devoted to him!

She would even live for him, die for him, and leap into the sparkling pond for him!

Li Hongyao: In that case, what harm is there in indulging this woman a little?

Everyone in the imperial harem knew that the emperor disliked Noble Consort Tang most of all. But one day, he began showering her with gifts and favoring her alone. His strange behavior made everyone suspect that she had put a spell on him!

Everyone: Has the consort been caught casting a spell?

The emperor: This alpaca is adorable. Send it to the consort!

Everyone: The beauty presented by Country X is gorgeous. Has the consort fallen out of favor?

The emperor: The beauty is a good cook. Send her to the consort to be her personal chef!

Everyone: The emperor has favored the consort alone for so long. Isn't he tired of her yet?

The emperor: The phoenix seal suits the consort perfectly. Attendants, prepare the empress's coronation ceremony!

Everyone: Good heavens, the world really has changed!

The consort: I was just raising my daughter in peace. How did I become empress?

Theatrical heroine × wife-obsessed hero
