Pre-release 1: Gender-Swapped Fake Reconciliation
Let's open our minds and gender-swap all the characters in a traditional reconciliation arc.
The female lead is career-minded, capable, noble, and peerlessly beautiful. She had a close male friend who died young, aka her white moonlight.
The male lead is love-brained and comes from a good family. He uses his entire clan's resources to help the female lead achieve her ambitions, while also dealing with men from all corners of the world throwing themselves at her and constantly competing for her attention.
Since the unattainable is always the most desirable, the female lead initially pines for her dead white moonlight and treats the male lead with cool indifference.
The male lead is like a silly dog, constantly gaslighting himself.
Though she's always giving me the cold shoulder, she just kills any other man who tries to get close to her. She hasn't killed me, so she must love me.
Then the white moonlight suddenly comes back to life.
After yearning for decades, the female lead is overjoyed to get her back and temporarily forgets all about the male lead.
The white moonlight is devious and a bit of a tease. She repeatedly makes the male lead realize what the female lead's true "love" looks like.
For example, there's a room the female lead always keeps locked. If the male lead even touches the door, she'll give him the cold shoulder for months. It used to be the white moonlight's room.
For example, the male lead begged for ages for a strand of her hair tied in a knot, but all the white moonlight had to do was praise her hair for being beautiful, and the female lead immediately cut some off and gave it to her. Then she changed into a neat short haircut and went off to fight without a backward glance.
For example, when asked why she agreed to their engagement in the first place, the female lead admits it was because the male lead's features looked seventy or eighty percent like the white moonlight's.
The male lead is utterly heartbroken and tries to kill himself, but instead finds a new lease on life. He then "sees through the world" and makes a stunning comeback, becoming a prominent figure on par with the female lead, sometimes even surpassing her.
Of course, the male lead's big moments are essentially all about getting the female lead's attention and starting the so-called reconciliation arc.
But the female lead only gets humiliated a few times at most. The one who really gets burned in the reconciliation arc is the white moonlight. She gets injured, disfigured, and disgraced. In short, everyone starts saying she isn't worthy of the female lead and takes the male lead's side.
After all, it's still a competition between men. Fighting for the female lead's love is what really satisfies the male lead.
At this point, the rose-colored filter of memory gradually fades, and the white moonlight is hit with the reconciliation arc's debuff. After one selfish act that disregards the greater good, the female lead finally rejects her completely.
And so the most satisfying thing in the male lead's life comes true.

Finally, make the female lead choose between the male lead and the white moonlight, and save the male lead once. Then he can openly forgive the female lead, and they get their happy ending. (^_^)
The female lead focuses on her career the whole time, treating the men competing for her as entertainment. In the end, she ascends the throne and gets a love-brained consort as a bonus, one ideal-type schemer, and several other handsome confidants.
Now this is the kind of satisfying reconciliation story suited to a girl's sensibilities (probably).
