My Possessive Childhood Friend Wants to Marry Me

On May 14, 20XX, the same-sex marriage law was passed. Yan Ce stared at the news notification for a long time, then suddenly asked, "Do you want to marry me?" Suo Xingchen was fiddling with his astronomical telescope and hadn't processed the question yet. He looked up blankly. "Huh?" Yan Ce looked away and said coolly, "It's nothing." Suo Xingchen thought he must have misheard. But from that day on, his childhood friend of over ten years started acting strangely. Holding hands, kissing his forehead, putting their arms around each other and hugging. Somehow, every familiar thing they'd done before now seemed charged with an ambiguous feeling. Sharing a bottle of soda, wearing the same clothes, sleeping in the same bed. The campus forum was absolutely certain that he and Yan Ce had been together for ages. Suo Xingchen hurriedly closed those posts. Under his childhood friend's steady gaze, he managed to stammer, "They're talking nonsense. We're obviously both straight, and we've been childhood friends for over ten years, so that's why..." He was too embarrassed to lift his head, and didn't see his childhood friend's jaw suddenly harden or the gloomy look in his eyes. Then, one night, Suo Xingchen jolted awake from a dream. The back of his neck tingled and throbbed with pain. Still clueless about what had happened, he opened his eyes in confusion. Lingering, tender kisses traveled from the nape of his neck to the curve of his ear, and a flush spread across his skin. His childhood friend's forceful, possessive presence completely enveloped him. In a hoarse whisper against his ear, Yan Ce said, "Xingxing, my heart isn't satisfied anymore." "I want to marry you."
