A Gloomy Ghost Man Has Latched On to Me

[New novel now available: I Became the Tyrant's Favorite by Courting Death] An accident caused Li Chu's childhood friend, Yin Miao, to drown. Li Chu couldn't escape the blame. Every year, he went to the river to mark Yin Miao's death anniversary. Sometimes he wanted to jump in and end it all, but then he felt that he shouldn't waste the life Yin Miao had saved for him. He struggled in agony for ten whole years. Ten years later, his mother, the only family he had left, died too. With nothing left to hold him back, and an opportunity to make a new start in another city, Li Chu went to the river to say a final goodbye to Yin Miao. He was going to start over in a different city. From that day on, the house grew damp, water dripped and splashed, and something invisible wandered by his side. Li Chu was terrified, plagued by nightmares day and night, and his mental state deteriorated. Even taking a shower made him jump at every little thing. Fear and suffocation followed him every moment. He knew Yin Miao, who had drowned, was back. He wouldn't let Li Chu go. He wanted to keep him by his side forever. * A water ghost drifted in a daze at the bottom of the Ruo River for ten years. One day, he heard a familiar voice say, "A Miao, I'm leaving." The words jolted the ghost awake. Don't go. I haven't told you yet... I like you. The ghost, who'd been resting peacefully at the bottom of the river, climbed out of the water. * [Bonus Scene] I keep getting sleep paralysis. The receiver: I get it. He's punishing me for causing his untimely death before he could even get a girlfriend. If we're brothers, I should let him have his fun. (Closes his eyes and bravely accepts his fate) The attacker: Heh... heh... splutter (Li... like...) * A gloomy, overworked man who wants to die for love but also wants to live X a damp, gloomy water ghost who died before he could confess ~ Check out my upcoming novel, Boss, Please Don't! You Leyan was determined from childhood to become a big shot's lackey. He knew one thing: even a sesame seed slipping through the fingers of the rich could feed the poor for a lifetime! He started running errands for people in middle school, secretly searching for a promising prospect with power, influence, and brains. At last, in his second year of high school, You Leyan was lucky enough to find a powerful backer. His name was Tu Mu, known in the underworld as Boss Mu. He was the golden boy among rich second-generation heirs, a favored child of heaven. He was handsome, always carried a book in a foreign language, and was reserved and taciturn. Boss Mu was clever and came from a distinguished family. He treated his underlings generously, was reasonable and fiercely protective, and helped You Leyan through several difficult times. You Leyan was overwhelmed with gratitude. His lackey instincts kicked in, and he hovered around Tu Mu every day, constantly calling him "Boss" and tirelessly serving him tea and water. Better to be a big shot's workhorse now than to toil for a company after college. That way, he could skip twenty years of struggle. You Leyan was very glad he'd made the right choice. Boss Mu taught him so much, and You Leyan admired him deeply, seeing him as an all-powerful god high above the world. Until one day, he found himself naked in the boss's bed, his backside aching terribly. In a panic, he scrambled for the door. The boss's tall figure loomed over him. Tu Mu's eyes were dark as he grabbed You Leyan by the ankle and dragged him back beneath him. Three months later, You Leyan, who had fled to the countryside to hide, couldn't stop retching, and his belly was gradually growing. Theme: Even when you're sad, keep striving to live. Everything will get better.
