My Expertise Is a Perfect Match (Ancient-Era Infrastructure)

Sheng Huaiqing grew up supported by social welfare and resolved from an early age to study hard and build a better country.

But on the day he attended his university graduation ceremony as the top student in his year, he died at just twenty-two while saving someone.

When he opens his eyes again, Sheng Huaiqing has become the deposed crown prince of the Sheng Dynasty, a figure absent from the history books. He is on the road to his fief with his younger brother.

His little brother, barely reaching his knee, holds his hand. Before him are gaunt subjects and a princely estate in ruins. And far away in the capital, the scheming empress and other princes are plotting to take his life.

Sheng Huaiqing grits his teeth. "My field of study may not be the best fit, but it's still construction work, isn't it? Let's do this!"

Many years later, Sheng Huaiqing, now emperor, rides in a carriage past the outskirts of the capital.

Wheat fields ripple like waves, farmers swing their newly forged iron hoes, and waterwheels turn slowly in the distance. Sunlight streams through the carriage window, illuminating the jewel-like fruit candies newly made on the small table.

Sheng Huaiqing stares in a daze at the world transformed by his efforts. Has his field of study... actually come in handy?
