Why Mourn? [JX3]

A spin-off based on NPCs from Jian Wang 3. Pairing: Pei Yuan x Luo Feng. Inspired by the Huajian level-100 CW description. Any OOC is my fault.

A complete one-shot. Be warned: bad ending.

Blurb:

One day, as Pei Yuan passed the Chang'an ferry once again, the chilly autumn wind stirred a sudden memory: in this life, something between him and Luo Feng had been missing all along.

The white-haired old age he had imagined, spent together through snow and frost, had left behind nothing but reed leaves covering the sandbanks.

For reference: Liu Guo, Tune: Tang Duo Ling

Reeds cover the sandbanks, cold sands skirt the shallow stream. Twenty years later, I pass South Tower again. The boat beneath the willows is still not quite moored. How many days until the Mid-Autumn Festival?

At the broken headland where the Yellow Crane once stood, is my old friend still here? These familiar rivers and mountains are all filled with fresh sorrow. I would buy osmanthus wine and share it with you, but in the end, it would never be like those youthful days.
