Tan Ning, who has always been a middling actress, joins a dating reality show. One of the contestants is Jiang Ming, today's top-tier star, the nation's heartthrob, and the actor every director and investor is fighting to recruit.

He's also her ex-boyfriend.

Luckily, when they draw roommates at random, she doesn't get paired with him.

Tan Ning thinks they can get through the whole show without incident, but halfway through, the rules change and the contestants can choose new roommates.

Her perfectly good roommate leaves her, and the only one left is Jiang Ming, all alone, offering her an olive branch as if to say: Now you can't get away.

Unexpectedly, the production crew catches the moment and edits it into the trailer, making it look like a tragic romance. The fans, who have always wanted their favorite star to be happy, are left heartbroken.

"Wasn't this supposed to be a sweet dating show?"

"Boohoo, how could this happen?"

When the full episodes air, fans who had given up all hope discover that this is no tragic romance at all. The two are clearly devoted to each other.
