The Empress's Demotion

The story above, “Married a Living Ancestor,” is currently updating...

Nan Zhu, a soon-to-be high school student, wakes up as an empress in an ancient dynasty.

Her father is the Prince of Yunnan, openly defying the imperial court. The original owner of her body was never favored by the emperor after marrying into the royal family. She is unprepared for the scheming among the women in the imperial harem, and her lover even goads her into poisoning the emperor.

Nan Zhu: Do you really need to go to all this trouble if you want me dead?

Everyone knows the Prince of Yunnan has rebelled against the throne, and the emperor loathes the entire Nan clan, including the empress. But later, when the young emperor leads an attack on Yunnan and is just one defensive line away from taking the city, he enters alone and bows to the Prince of Yunnan.

“Surrounding a city is a ruler's way of doing things. Coming here alone is a son-in-law's show of respect.”

“...Father-in-law.”

"Scene 1"

Everyone else's path to promotion goes up, up, up. Nan Zhu's only goes down, down, down.

Empress → Consort Chen → Concubine Chen → Noble Lady → Attendant → ?

She thought she'd be kicked out of the palace any day now.

Who knew the dog emperor would say, “There is no divorce, only widowhood.”

Nan Zhu: Sorry to bother you. T-T

"Scene 2"

One day, the emperor returned to the palace and found dog hair all over the imperial bed. He flew into a rage.

The children's mother tearfully held their little one and kowtowed, begging for forgiveness.

Nan Zhu: “Dog hair comes from dogs. If you want to chop someone, chop the dog~”

Emperor: “...”
