[Western Fantasy] The God of Magic at the City Gates

A young Archmage fell in love with someone. That person was his god, his everything.

There was nothing wrong with that person, except that he didn't belong to the Archmage.

To stand closer to him, the Archmage gave it everything he had. He studied magic, challenged magical beasts, and left his footprints on the highest peaks. From an ordinary nameless child to a young Archmage of extraordinary promise, he became a legend of his age.

Then, dear sir, would you come with me to see my hometown?

There's nothing there, but I really want to take you to see it.

Leo would probably never forget that person: a boy in a splendid black robe, standing against the light and looking down at him. One sweet potato and a bag of beans had saved his life in the mud.

That person became his young master, and the love of his life...

What Leo was proudest of in his life wasn't becoming an Archmage, nor standing up to the demons. What made him proudest was that his wonderful young master eventually gave up life in the royal capital, took his hand of his own accord, and went with him to settle in that remote, desolate border town.

Meeting you made me so happy. I'm willing to become a better person, just so I can stand by your side.

Theme: Become a better version of yourself, and pursue the person you love as an equal.
