[Everyone's Favorite] [No Romance] [Lighthearted] [Slice of Life] [All Supporting Characters Are Male]
Lu Ren has a knack for attracting devoted followers. Before he knows it, he has a whole crowd of them trailing behind him.
His underlings are all well-behaved, but they’re tall and burly, and when they gather in groups of three or five, they look like a gang of villains making an entrance.
On the first day of their freshman year, two neat rows of underlings in black suits stood at the school gate and greeted him in deep, booming voices: “Good morning, Boss!”
The principal, watching from a distance, went dark in the face.
Lu Ren: “I can explain...”
The underlings looked at the principal. “Stare...”
The principal slowly turned his head away and pretended he hadn’t seen anything.
Lu Ren: “...” You’re supposed to reprimand me! I’m really not a school bully!
His usually tough-guy underlings cry like three-year-olds in front of him, saying they don’t want to transfer and leave him.
One pretty underling, who hates being described in feminine terms, is willing to wear women’s clothes every day to shield him from love letters.
Underlings who are fierce with everyone else tend to him like thoughtful, caring nurses.
He has everything handed to him, from clothes to food... Hey, it’s class right now. Could you tone it down a little?
His underlings’ grades are a cause for concern. Lu Ren serves them a whole lot of inspirational speeches about studying, but they barely help. They try their best, but they just can’t absorb the material.
Lu Ren stares out the window. “I guess we won’t get into the same university. We might not get to see each other much during those four years...”
“Hey, why are you all working so hard? That’s a bit much. Remember to rest and eat, okay?”
The underlings: “We have to get into the same university as Boss. We can’t accept being separated from him!”
An uproarious daily-life story about a boss and his underlings.

Reader's guide:
The protagonist is handsome, gentle, kind, softhearted, and a little saintly. He’s loved by everyone, like the lead in a Mary Sue story. He won’t fall in love with anyone in the novel, but he cares deeply about his underlings.
Every underling has an unrequited crush on the protagonist, is devoted to him, and depends on him. They’re happy when they’re by his side and shed little pearls when they’re apart.
The story starts at school. Later arcs may include ancient times, Western fantasy, space, the supernatural, the apocalypse, cultivation, and more.
There are so many underlings that, to avoid accidentally choosing sensitive names, some have been given cherry-blossom surnames and Westernized first names, such as Nishio, Ryosuke, and Kageyama... Well, they’re Nish, Ryo, and Kage.
Category note: In the JJ community, one-sided crushes on a protagonist who has no interest in romance count as no-CP.
Theme: Love life, care for others, build a harmonious society, and be honest and sincere.
