[JX3] When Will We Sail Together?

[A reader shared the heroine's real name in the comments. Just treat the name in the story as the author's mistake (? -ω-`)]

Blurb: When Ji Yan was fourteen, she met Ye Hang. The noise she made while practicing her marksmanship woke him up, but he wasn't annoyed. Instead, he wanted to befriend her.

What a strange and gentle person, she thought.

Later, Ye Hang somehow got himself a little boat. Whenever she left school, she would see him standing on it, waving to her excitedly.

Those were her happiest moments.

Later, An Lushan rebelled and war swept across the land. She resolutely enlisted. After that, she and Ye Hang saw even less of each other. But whenever she left camp and returned to the lakeside of West Lake in Hang County, she would always see Ye Hang rowing that little boat, waving to her excitedly as he had before.

Those were the moments she felt most at peace.

But later, no one ever again rowed that little boat, waving to her across the layers of lotus leaves and rippling green waters.

A few notes up front:

1. This story expands on the personal storyline of Ye Hang, the second young master who appears in the turbulent-era storyline of the Sword 3 Cangjian sect.

2. The story is based on the book awarded after completing the quest, “When Shall We Sail Together,” from the “Blood Letter of a Gentleman” series.

3. The original story is told from the male lead Ye Hang's perspective. This story is from the heroine Ji Yan's perspective. Ji Yan's name and character are original. The original story doesn't mention the heroine's name or personality, only that her family ran a martial arts school, she knew how to use a spear, and she later enlisted.

4. It's a bad ending, a bad ending, a bad ending. I'm saying it three times because it's important. Interested readers can try completing this quest in the game.

5. The author, who returned to the game, has been left unconscious by the story's emotional devastation (?;︵;`)
