The White Moonlight Is Back

In two lifetimes, Jiang Xiaotang had never once imagined she'd be the other woman.

She was unlucky. When people transmigrated, they usually became young ladies, princesses, or county princesses. At worst, they might get to be a wealthy merchant's daughter. But she got to be an orphan who was nearly starving to death.

To stay alive, Jiang Xiaotang sold herself as a maid. From then on, her whole life was tied to the young master, Lu Jue.

She enjoyed a few years of good fortune along with the wealthy Lu family, and when the family was ruined, she suffered right alongside them.

She followed Lu Jue into exile. They ate tree bark, fought bandits, did good deeds and bad, and depended on each other for survival. They went through plenty of hardships and tasted plenty of sweetness, too.

With the sun and moon as witnesses, they bowed to heaven and earth. Lu Jue promised to be with her to the ends of the earth and even to the underworld, and to stay by her side until their hair turned white.

Well, in the end, she really did make it to the underworld. To avenge Lu Jue, she slashed his enemy and was hung on the city gate, her corpse exposed for three days.

Then she discovered after death that this world had an underworld and a celestial realm, and Lu Jue was a celestial venerable who had descended to the mortal world to undergo a trial. Most importantly, the bastard hadn't died! He was still alive! He'd faked his death so he could be with that damn county princess! She was a celestial maiden undergoing a trial too! What the hell did she and Lu Jue have to do with some destined romantic trial?!

Then what did that make her?

Was she just the trial itself??

Fuck!
