Marrying the Imperial Uncle (The Beloved Beauty)

Minfu had an imperial uncle.

Minfu was raised by her imperial uncle, Shen Zhenyun.

When she was little, she remembered her father always laughing in the arms of other beauties, or debating matters of state with his ministers in court. He never paid any attention to Minfu in the inner palace.

Back then, she liked to sit obediently beside a stone in the garden and wait for her father to return. Though she never saw him, she would always run into her imperial uncle on his way back from court.

Even at such a young age, her clear, pure eyes were captivating. It was obvious she would grow into a beauty. Shen Zhenyun held out his hand and picked her up.

"Good little Fu, come with your uncle, all right?"

Her imperial uncle had a way of inspiring trust. Though she was too young to understand anything, she reached out to him without thinking.

When Minfu came of age, she was betrothed to a wastrel. A noble princess could not possibly marry someone like that, and Minfu was indignant. She went alone to sit on a rock beside the imperial garden and sulk.

Shen Zhenyun came over to comfort her, but she grabbed his hand. Her eyes were still as clear as ever as she gazed at him, her beautiful eyes full of affection.

"Imperial uncle? Little Fu wants to be your wife."

His cool gaze shifted, but he said nothing.

The next day, shocking news spread throughout the imperial capital: the immensely powerful Prince Gong had petitioned the emperor for permission to marry Princess Minfu, ten years his junior.

The entire nation was stunned.
