[Infinite] City of the Black Moon

That night, a black moon appeared in the sky. Xie Ci woke from a dream to find that everything around him had changed. The faucet in the washroom wouldn't shut off, water rushing out nonstop. Weird laughter came from the attic. A white pupil peered through the peephole, rolling around. Moths fluttered, dust sifted down, and a spider wove a blood-red cocoon in the corner. Xie Ci: "..." He picked up a bucket of cooking oil, grabbed a lighter, and without a second thought set the entire wall on fire. The black moon loomed overhead. The unnatural had descended, and an invisible curse spread, dragging people into endless torment and despair. Yet someone asked Gu Mian, "Why would you willingly enter the Black Moon?" Gu Mian put on a thoughtful expression. "...Obviously, because it was keeping me from sleeping. Can't you tell from my name that I'm a sleep enthusiast?" "..." "Just kidding." Gu Mian smiled. The truth was that, unable to sleep in the darkness that night, he saw someone surrounded by flames, like a beam of light. The author doesn't even know what they're trying to write, but suddenly really wanted to write it. Probably fake infinite-leveling but real horror, catching ghosts, leveling up, saving the world, and stuff like that. Theme: Burn yourself to pursue the light.
