Everyone at school knew that the delinquent who skipped class every day and talked back to teachers, yet had a handsome face that made people drool, was Wen Nuan's childhood friend.

Wen Nuan liked Xu Huan. Watching him move among the girls, she was content just to admire him from afar.

But the older she got, the more she wanted him.

She summoned her courage and confessed, "I like you. I think you're wonderful."

Xu Huan replied flippantly, "But you're not my type."

Her humble young love got her nothing.

Wen Nuan blocked and deleted Xu Huan on WeChat and erased his phone number.

But when they met again in college, Xu Huan took her hand, grinned roguishly, and leaned close enough for her to feel his breath. "Do you still like me? Why don't you coax me a little? Then I'll be yours."

How could she not like him? He had been the dream she'd cherished for years.

Only then did Wen Nuan learn that Xu Huan had liked her long before she ever fell for him.

He had loved her for years, so much that he hadn't dared to get close.

What you can't forget will find its way back to you.

Xu Huan was a notorious bad student, blessed with a face girls drooled over but incapable of behaving himself.

Roguish and unruly, he looked down on everyone and squandered his life.

Wen Nuan was a well-known model student, every teacher's favorite, ranked first in her grade year after year and awarded so many certificates she could barely hold them all.

Despite having nothing in common, these two turned out to be childhood friends.

Xu Huan was known for never being faithful to anyone, a scumbag through and through. That was what everyone who knew him agreed on.

But later, everyone discovered that he would scour the entire city just to find his beloved girl's favorite dessert.

He would crouch down on a busy road to tie her shoelaces, not caring what anyone thought.

On a noisy summer day filled with cicadas, he would corner the girl he loved in a blind spot beyond the school's security cameras and kiss her without a care in the world.

He would hold her hand openly and introduce her to everyone: "This is my future wife, Wen Nuan."

It turned out he wasn't incapable of devotion or commitment. He could give all his affection to one girl alone.

He loved her beyond measure.
