Immortal Family

Strange things began happening to Qiao Xinying. Dreams within dreams she couldn't wake from, mysterious knocks at the door in the middle of the night, inexplicable bruises, the faint sound of a child crying, and increasingly frequent brushes with death. Tormented by all kinds of bizarre phenomena, she finally decided one day to seek help. After praying to the gods and trying good-luck charms to no avail, a friend recommended a mysterious master. The moment Qiao Xinying saw the master, she was completely stunned. Because the person standing before her was none other than her ex-boyfriend, who had been missing for seven years! "If you don't come find me, you're as good as dead." Seven years ago, he had left Qiao Xinying an ambiguous letter, then suddenly dropped out of school and disappeared. With the college entrance exams approaching, Qiao Xinying chose to seal away her first love, which had come to nothing, with a few tears. She never expected that when they met again years later, there would be no light in sight, talismans spread all over the floor, and her ex-boyfriend sitting on a coffin with one knee raised, looking down at her. "Have we met somewhere before?" "..." Could there be a more disastrous rekindling of an old romance? *An entirely fictional take on folk customs and the supernatural.
