Rong Shuangxuan read a book whose morally warped plot fell apart halfway through. She felt nothing for its twisted story, but she couldn't help feeling for the innocent real young master who became its scapegoat. As a child, his identity had been maliciously switched. His adoptive father was wrongfully imprisoned, and his adoptive mother died young. He grew up branded a "murderer's son." After his true identity was restored, his birth parents remained indifferent, tacitly allowing the fake young master to bully and frame him while turning a blind eye to his dire circumstances.

In the end, the real young master's personality became so twisted that he went ahead and committed the crimes he'd been falsely accused of. The police shot him dead.

After transmigrating into a book as the awkwardly situated fake heiress, Rong Shuangxuan had only one thought: hurry and save him from the fake young master.

Xun Zhan was still a little wolf cub then, battered and disheveled. His school uniform was faded from too many washes and much too big, and there were streaks of blood on his face. But when he saw Rong Shuangxuan, he put away his fierce expression and suddenly smiled at her, looking harmless as a lamb.

Xun Zhan looked flattered, but inwardly sneered. He didn't believe a word of that nonsense.

Not long afterward, he discovered that she had meant it.

Bonus scene:

At first, bound by the identity of her "younger brother," Xun Zhan would either act like a two-faced schemer to make the men pursuing Rong Shuangxuan look bad, sulk on his own, or go to any lengths to get her attention. He was constantly on edge, his heart in turmoil.

Later, after he finally pulled her into his arms, Rong Shuangxuan became the young CEO Rong. One gorgeous male influencer after another threw himself at her, making it impossible to let down his guard. When Xun Zhan saw one of them hold her hand for more than three seconds, then refuse to let go, he stopped holding back. That night, he went home and whispered against her ear, jealousy burning in him.

This time he didn't say a word. He took action directly, as if determined to reclaim all the grievances he'd held on to for so long.

Just before Rong Shuangxuan passed out from exhaustion, she heard him growl viciously:

"Didn't you say you came here for me? Then you should belong to me alone."

Lou Jichu glanced at the stage too. A youthful boy was dancing, flirting and acting cute with ease. He cursed him inwardly for being so affected, then grabbed Wan Yi by the arm and pulled her up.

"Who's your darling? Who's cute?"

The crowd turned to look. The impeccably dressed man in a sharp suit pointed at the stage. After a long pause, he blushed and said something that left everyone dumbfounded:

"How are they cuter than me?"

Wan Yi: ? What the hell are you talking about?

After finally bringing her home, he found Wan Yi cool and distant, and she even kept talking about divorce. Not a word from her was what he wanted to hear. Every sentence cut into Lou Jichu's heart.

"I told you, you're not my type. I like the whimpering kind who knows how to act cute."

The man's face turned livid, a clear sign he was about to lose his temper. He just wanted to silence her chattering mouth. Wan Yi instinctively tried to back away. Lou Jichu sighed. In the end, he couldn't bring himself to force her. He bent down, rested his chin on her shoulder, and rubbed against her ingratiatingly, softening his voice as much as he could.

"A Yi, will you kiss me?"
