Days of Saving the World with the Ghost Lord

"You have painful memories of being enslaved by humans. That's what you hate most. So now that you're staying beside me, a succubus who's best at manipulating people's hearts, you can't possibly feel at ease, can you?"

Besides, even she feared the terrible desires deep inside herself.

"You're the one who can't feel at ease, aren't you?"

The Sword Demon gazed steadily at the Snow Succubus, like a sword resting in its sheath. Then, with casual words, he offered an even more hopeless temptation.

"If you're uneasy or afraid, you can use your skill... I give you permission to do that, Tohn."

Just as she had once kissed his frostbitten, burn-scarred face, the oni drew the Snow Succubus's hand to his chest and placed it over his beating heart.

"There's nothing wrong with that."

The girl, as if frozen in ice, answered when he asked her name.

Back then, the oni didn't understand the language of demons. In his muddled mind, her name sounded just like a simple English word from his previous life: Dawn.

At last, it was as if dawn itself had torn through the gloomy horizon above the ice fields, like the most piercing frost, stabbing deep into the soul scorched by endless rage.

"Awakening" everything within him and her.

To others, he simply called the Snow Succubus "Tohn." Only he knew that he was calling out to the dawn that would extinguish his fury, the daybreak that would awaken his soul.

You can read this as a light fantasy novel even if you haven't read the original~ This is a little-known corner of So I'm a Spider, So What?
