I Raised a Beautiful Crab with One Tail

Of all the fairy tales, poor Youyou loves The Little Mermaid most of all.

As a child, she often prayed to God: "Lord, I hope I can meet a handsome, kind mermaid prince."

For eighteen whole years, the Lord played deaf and dumb.

Then one rainy day, a breathtakingly handsome merman appeared in her home. The only problem was that he was no bigger than her palm.

The merman had run into trouble and ended up beside Youyou. He was soaked through, his long black hair draped over his shoulders and his tail a watery green.

His face was pale, his eyes dark as ink. He lay weakly on the floor, looking up at her pitifully.

When he saw her freeze, the merman was pleased with his own beauty.

But Youyou's face suddenly twisted. She poked his tail and menaced him: "Hey, hurry up and cry. Shed some tears."

Who asks someone to cry the first time they meet?

Still, the merman played along, his eyes reddening, though he didn't cry.

Youyou sighed, disappointed, then curled a finger and flicked him away.

"So it really was a lie. They said mermaids shed pearls when they cry."

Merman: ...

God: ??? So that's why you like mermaids?

Later, the merman fell into a bowl of wine, his face flushed and his hands and feet numb.

Youyou was shocked to discover that her merman had turned into a plate of drunken crab.

#So the real reason you can't cry pearl tears is that your true form is just a crab? #

#So this is the modern version of "I have to show a little crab leg so you know I'm lying to you"? #

Little scene:

When Youyou's anxiety flares up, Wule gives her an ordinary gray bead that shimmers in the sunlight.

To everyone else, it's just a worthless stone. But it's a pain pearl Wule spent twenty whole years refining from his own suffering.

A precious gift for her.

May she live a smooth, worry-free life.
