The Princess's Cold-Faced Guard

Blurb: In the Great Wei Dynasty, there was a city gate commander named Chu Sui. In just one year and three months, he rose to become the commander of the Imperial Guards. He made a name for himself with his decisiveness in dealing with matters, his cold severity toward his subordinates, and his ruthlessness toward his enemies. A court censor remarked, "This man is sure to become a menace one day."

Princess Yong'an had been frail, harmless, frugal, and obedient since childhood. Her awkward status made life in the imperial palace exceptionally difficult. She thought she would never meet anyone who truly cared for her in this lifetime, but to her surprise, the person willing to risk his life to win her freedom was Chu Sui.

Chu Sui didn't care what kind of terrifying fiend others thought he was. He knew only that if Yong'an so much as furrowed her brow, he would gladly risk life and limb for her.

Princess Yong'an said, "Beneath Chu Sui's cold mask, all I find is tenderness."

Later, Chu Sui was taken aback by the change in the princess's attitude. He asked, uncertainly, "You... aren't afraid of me anymore?"

Yong'an shook her head and pressed her lips together. "Would you hurt me?"

Chu Sui said, "No."

Yong'an replied, "Then why should I be afraid of you?"

1. A cold-faced guard who is a big bad wolf X a teary-eyed princess who is a little white rabbit

2. The setting is extremely loose, with lots of authorial inventions and no logic.

3. A short bedtime story, not a long one.
