Don't Get So Close to Me

1. Gu Zhe, top student and campus heartthrob at Qingyuan High, is a cool, aloof, seemingly untouchable big shot. More than half the girls at school have a crush on him, but none of them dare confess.

Naturally, there's no one he likes, either. His best friends all wonder what kind of fairy could possibly tame Brother Zhe.

2. Lin Zhiyi puts everything she has into getting into the best private high school in the city. She earns a full scholarship and gets into its best class, paying no attention to anything but her studies and focusing on what matters.

One is a rebellious boy, the other a well-behaved honors student. No one has ever connected her with Gu Zhe.

3. Then someone spills the secret: Gu Zhe teases his deskmate in the classroom every day after school. The onlookers don't believe it, so the person who told them recounts what happened. "I left late one day, and saw the big shot humbly pleading with the girl in front of him: 'Don't be mad. I'll let you take a bite of me as an apology.'"

The girl doesn't even bat an eye. "Gu Zhe, stop distracting me from studying."

Brother Zhe lounges around with a careless grin. "Come on, then. I'll study with you."

4. Lin Zhiyi has a little secret. Whenever she gets distracted while reading, every word on the page turns into the name Gu Zhe, over and over.

So, beside the name of her dream university, she quietly adds one more name to her list of life's wishes.

[Don't ask if I like you. In the silent hours of the night, you're always on my mind. You're the only reason I can't concentrate.]
