[Qing] The Little Beastie Became the Qing Palace's Beloved

My new novel, "The Only Human Cub in the Entire Galaxy," is now underway. Please add it to your reading list! Ever since the little Taotie was forced to undergo trials, he had never once eaten his fill. He made a wish to the System: I want a feast fit for an emperor, enough to eat until I'm stuffed! Everyone in my family should be a big shot, and no one should have to worry about going bald! Awoo! When he opened his eyes again, he wailed, "Waaah!" The little Taotie, reborn as a prince of the Qing Dynasty, cried because that bald head was so ugly. Luckily, his Imperial Father adored him, his mother adored him, and his great-grandmother adored him. Everyone scrambled to feed the little dumpling delicious food. How blissful! But as they kept feeding him, everyone started drooling over the delicacies the little one made. Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang: I'm old. I don't care for food anymore... gulp. Qi'er, just a bowl of plain noodles will do. Kangxi: Eating after the hour of the Dog is against palace rules. Princes, go take care of your work... gulp. Yinqi, make my barbecue extra numbing and spicy. The princes: That scoundrel of a father wants to hog all the food?! Flip the table! We're done. He can work overtime by himself! * Later, the royal family became so obsessed with food that the whole court was shaken. The court officials: How could the legitimate imperial prince stoop to being a cook?! Slurp... So leave the hard work of opening a hot pot restaurant to us, Your Highness. *A story about a little Taotie who only wants to eat, but accidentally becomes a sensation throughout the Qing Dynasty and even takes the world by storm. [Little Scene] Kangxi: Why are you crying, little one? Yinqi: Waaah... Imperial Father, do you think I'm ugly? Kangxi: No, you're not ugly. What would make you think that? Yinqi: Waaah... Then why did someone say I look like you? Kangxi: ??? Everyday father-and-son life: [A father's love is as solid as a mountain... until the mountain slides.jpg] P.S. This is an everyday-life story. The little Taotie is two years and four months old when he first appears, a real toddler, so the food-related parts will come a little later. Coming soon: "The Empress Just Wants to Lie Flat (Qing Dynasty Time Travel)." Please add it to your reading list! Yuling transmigrates into the second empress of the Kangxi era, a member of the powerful Niohuru clan. Before her is the gentle, virtuous first empress, the beloved white moonlight; behind her is the sweet and attentive childhood friend, Consort Tong. Her adoptive father is none other than Oboi, who was executed long ago. In six months, she will die. A habitual slacker, Yuling takes stock of her dowry, calculates the empress's salary, and counts the gifts Kangxi has sent her. Then she looks around at the spacious palaces, gorgeous hairpins and dresses, and all the beautiful women in period costumes coming and going. She lies down. Why compete? Lie flat! * At dawn, when Kangxi has been at court for half the day and is starving... Beautiful palace maids help Yuling up, gently dress her and style her hair, and nearly feed her by hand. In the morning, when the old ministers give Kangxi a headache... Yuling watches a flock of pretty women bicker below, munching on peeled five-spice melon seeds. What fun, watching the drama while snacking! At noon, when Kangxi is too busy to eat... Yuling enjoys a full Manchu-Han banquet prepared by the imperial banquet chefs, then rinses her mouth with West Lake Longjing after getting tired of abalone. At night, when Kangxi breaks down over the endless state affairs... Yuling listens to a Jiangnan songstress, soaks in the private bath reserved for the empress, looks at authentic works by famous ancient masters, and even gets to nag a living author for a new chapter. Yuling: Early to bed and early to rise, healthy body and happy heart. * One day, busy Kangxi enters the harem hoping for a little comfort, only to find that his entire harem has changed... Huh??? Where are my hardworking empress and my jealous consorts? Yuling: I'm so glad Your Majesty works so hard. It gives me such a wonderful life where I can lie flat! * Note: 1. There are quite a few changes to the historical setting, and she has a golden finger. 2. There is child-rearing. 3. Not both leads are virgins. 4. A slacker empress and her hapless emperor. Coming soon, Book 2: "The Socially Anxious One Became the Qing Palace's Favorite Through Memes" (male lead, child-rearing) Blurb: A genius young artist with severe social anxiety transmigrates into Yinzhi, whom missionaries have declared autistic. He has to complete the "Happy Family" mission to get home. Yinzhi, whom Yongzheng criticized for "being unable to speak at six, and bursting into frightened tears whenever he saw his imperial father," is only four right now... That's great! He can stay mute until he's seven, then make an effort! Who knew that even though he only wanted to be a shut-in, people would keep forcing him to socialize? Grand Empress Dowager: "Sweet grandson, come visit your great-grandmother every day, okay? If you don't come, you won't get any sweet milk tea." With his social-anxiety shut-in weakness exposed, Yinzhi was devastated. Kangxi: "Third son, go study with your brothers at the Imperial Academy. If you can't recite the Three Character Classic, you don't get to eat!" He didn't want to speak, so he switched to writing from memory, and accidentally became a child prodigy?! Nooo... Yinzhi burst into tears. Consort Rong, of the Ma Jia clan: "Good boy, if you want paint, paper, and brushes, take this money and go buy them from the missionaries at the Imperial Observatory." This is a hellishly difficult level! Yinzhi burst into tears again. QAQ Yinzhi: "Third brother, there was once a person who didn't like talking or going out. Then he... got beaten up by the two of us!" You wicked older brothers! I've survived worse! Yinzhi fled in tears. QAQ Baby Yinzhen: "Gege, hug me~" Somebody help~~~ Human toddlers are the scariest thing ever!!! With no other choice, Yinzhi, who didn't want to communicate, could only hand out one self-drawn meme after another to express his about-to-explode feelings. [Don't come any closer!.jpg] [Without milk tea, I may never be happy again.jpg] [Father, hungry, food.jpg] [Good and obedient.jpg] Everyone was smitten by the impossibly cute little dumpling.
