A cool, tsundere street-dance club senior who insists she doesn't care x a gentle, sweet beauty from the literature department
A lighthearted campus story about a senior who insists she doesn't care, then chases after the girl she rejected.
--
Ask who the universally acknowledged campus beauty at X University is, and everyone will give a different answer. No one can convince anyone else.
But if you ask who has the sweetest temper, there is only one worthy answer: Shang Mingke from the literature department.
No one knew that Shang Mingke fell in love at first sight with Hua Qing, who performed the opening solo dance at the welcome party.
But Hua Qing was nothing like the gentle, approachable girl her classical-style dance suggested.
Whenever she saw Shang Mingke, she would coldly lower her gaze, pull the brim of her oversized black hoodie over her head, and silently reject Shang Mingke's attempts to chat.
Shang Mingke couldn't understand why, and pressed her for an explanation.
All she got in reply was, "I don't like younger girls."
--
After Shang Mingke went to great lengths to get Hua Qing's contact information, all she received were cold, curt rejections.
"I'm gaming. Don't message me."
With her best friend's careful coaching, Shang Mingke stumbled into her first attempt at pursuing someone.
She diligently sent "Good morning" and "Good night" every day, delivered homemade sweets like a food courier, made little DIY gifts, and even waited outside the dance studio just to see Hua Qing a little more often.
All she got in return were rejections that grew more and more outrageous.
"I don't like sweets."
"What's the point of this?"
"Don't come to the dance studio looking for me if you don't have a reason."
At last, Shang Mingke gave up and stopped bothering her.
But Hua Qing, quite out of character, began doing everything she could to please her.
"I learned a new dance. Want to see it?"
"I ordered this especially for you. Full sugar, no ice."
She even invited Shang Mingke over to watch a kitten do a backflip.
"The kitten can't actually do one, but I can. Want to see?"
Hua Qing kept backing Shang Mingke into a corner until she was pressed against the edge of a table. All she could do was let Hua Qing's exceptionally flexible waist bend close to her wrist as Hua Qing's vulnerable, aggrieved voice sounded in her ear. "Junior, do you really not like me anymore?"
So Senior Hua really did have two sides to her.
A mild case of chasing your love back after losing it.
There is a misunderstanding early on, but Hua Qing isn't an ill-mannered girl.
They're both good girls.
