[Replacement Mission Complete.]
The mission prompt sounded in Su Shuang's ear.
That day, the protagonist and the hundred sects of the Immortal Path stormed the Demon Palace. Immortal energy swept away the demonic aura, and every demon and monster vanished into dust.
While the immortal sects celebrated, no one noticed a little beauty in a cloak sneaking into the Demon Palace wine cellar to fish out a few jars of long-forgotten vintage. He sat atop a towering osmanthus tree, taking the occasional sip.
Su Shuang had transmigrated into a book. His mission was to play the gentle, understanding little beauty who served as the Demon Lord Wen Rou's replacement lover.
When he was young and naive, he had spent all his power healing the Demon Lord's wounds and become his confidant, the one who understood him best. Even when he was mocked every few days for being less considerate than the Demon Lord's white moonlight, Su Shuang endured it all.
Anyone would despair when everything they gave was trampled underfoot. Today was his last day on the job. In front of everyone, Su Shuang performed a farewell scene: the Demon Lord was sealed away, his beauty was heartbroken and coughed up blood, then disappeared without a trace. After that, he hid up high and quietly watched the whole edifice collapse.

A hundred years ago, the Demon Lord's white moonlight died, and the Demon Lord lost half his soul along with him. He spent the next hundred years in a daze.
But while sealed away by the righteous sects, he stumbled upon a stroke of fortune and recovered the soul he had lost long ago. With his head splitting from pain, he fled unconsciously back to the Demon Palace, now reduced to ruins.
The righteous cultivators had already left, their reputations made. All that remained here were broken walls and rubble. His boundless power had turned into loneliness in the blink of an eye. The Demon Lord, face dark, stumbled and fell beneath the osmanthus tree.
Beneath the moonlight, the rich scent of wine drifted down from the treetops. The Demon Lord looked up and saw a familiar little beauty gazing down at him impassively. There was none of the warmth and adoration he used to see in his eyes.
The Demon Lord's heart, cold for a hundred years, suddenly skipped a beat. For a moment, he was entranced.
That is, until cold wine splashed across his face, followed by a fairly hefty little wine jar that came crashing down and left him seeing stars.
"Ah... Sorry." The person in the tree stretched lazily and looked away, seemingly bored. "My hand slipped. You're not going to punish me for it, are you, Your Excellency?"
Clear wine trickled down his neck and into his wounds. Time seemed to stand still. The Demon Lord felt as if his whole body were burning.
[Reader's Note]
A gentle, cunning little beauty Bottom with a bit of a take-charge streak, a story about training a dog
The Demon Lord's white moonlight is the Bottom. Contains a little groveling-after-the-breakup, but overall it's lighthearted and funny
Theme: Two people overcome hardships, come to understand each other, grow as individuals, and find happiness
