My Rival Confessed to Me After the College Entrance Exam

Xu Yanhuan was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and grew up in the spotlight. Her family, looks, and grades were all top-notch, and wherever she went, she was the center of attention.

That was until she started at Changhong High and met Shi Tanxi.

Shi Tanxi always snatched away honors that should have belonged to her, all without a care, as if she were simply more talented and therefore always at ease.

Xu Yanhuan: I don't believe it! I refuse to accept it!

In ancient times, King Goujian of Yue endured hardship to seek revenge. Now, Xu Yanhuan was ready to study with the same determination.

If Shi Tanxi worked through practice problems, she would too!

If Shi Tanxi studied Olympiad math, she would too!

If Shi Tanxi went to a summer camp, she would too!

Shi Tanxi was finally driven to the brink and stayed up studying until two in the morning.

Xu Yanhuan: Up before the chickens, to bed later than the dogs.

Shi Tanxi: ?? Are you insulting me?

Teachers and students at Changhong High: What's the point?

On the day the college entrance exam results came out, Xu Yanhuan got her wish. She beat Shi Tanxi by one point and became the top scorer. She couldn't help shouting at the sky, "I'm finally free of Shi Tanxi! Hahahaha!"

Shi Tanxi muttered beside her, "I applied to the same university as you."

"..."

"I... like you."

"Are you crazy? Everyone at Changhong High knows you're the person I hate most!"

Many, many years later, the two returned to Changhong High. To this day, stories about Xu Yanhuan are still told there.

Xu Yanhuan: "Apparently, back then I went to great lengths to find out what practice problems Shi Tanxi was doing so we'd have something to talk about. I fought tooth and nail to get into the same summer camps so I could bump into her. I even followed her to the library, secretly kept her notes, and chased after her for three years. Then, by accident, I got the top score on the college entrance exam. Damn!"

Shi Tanxi: "For a while... I thought so too."
