The Underdog Stock Doesn't Want to Deal with You

The most painful thing about reading a novel where you pick your favorite love interest is choosing the one who seems most like the male lead, only to find out he's not the male lead.

Shen Gu's cousin strongly recommended a danmei novel to him. He was as straight as they came and had prepared himself, but the book still left him stunned.

The novel's protagonist, Mu Lanxi, is a good-for-nothing, lazy prince. Yet thanks to his stunning looks, which make him seem like a beautiful woman, he gets everyone wrapped around his finger: the regent, the bodyguard, the cult leader, his childhood friend, his childhood friend's father, and the aloof Buddhist monk.

The whole process is unbearable to watch, yet the story insists on ending with a pure 1v1 romance.

And it kills off the male lead Shen Gu had rooted for most, the one who had given the most to the protagonist: an aloof Buddhist monk who was secretly the crown prince of an enemy kingdom.

And on the night the monk dies, the protagonist even forgets their promise and is busy getting intimate with the other love interests.

Shen Gu: ?

So angry he couldn't sleep, Shen Gu opens his eyes and finds himself transmigrated as the aloof Buddhist monk, Shen Guanjing.

At this moment, the plot is affecting him. He can't take his eyes off the protagonist, his eyes redden, and his Adam's apple bobs. Against his will, he raises a hand. "One prince must remain in the inner hall tonight to chant scriptures with me."

Their eyes meet, and the protagonist immediately blushes. But the next moment, the pointing hand shifts to the person behind him.

Shen Gu: "Then please have the second prince stay."

The second prince, Mu Yuzheng, is cold and ruthless, decisive in killing, and thoroughly sick of the protagonist, who is useless yet adored by everyone. But thanks to the protagonist's plot armor, he still ends up as cannon fodder among the protagonist's many love interests.

Shen Gu thinks simply: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Staying away from the protagonist and all his love interests means staying away from misfortune!

But he never expected to wake up day after day in a sticky, tangled embrace.

He looks helplessly at the person clinging to him. "Does your Mu family have some kind of succubus bloodline?"

An aloof, foxlike top x an openly cool, succubus-like bottom

Theme: Love means being devoted to one person.
