[DC/Red Hood Romance] Owe You a Hug

Synopsis:

One day, I heard this story.

The boy in the story didn't have a good life at first, but later he met an older person who adopted him and treated him very well. The boy loved and respected this person deeply.

I thought the story would have a very happy ending, but the storyteller suddenly changed course: the boy's ending wasn't happy at all. He died in an explosion, and nobody came to save him.

When he finished, we looked at each other in silence.

He glanced back at me, shrugged, and casually added, "Maybe someone did come to save him, but they didn't make it in time. Anyway, the boy was devastated and heartbroken."

I said that outcome was terribly unfair to the boy.

He fell silent.

I had more or less guessed whose story it was. "If I could meet that child, I'd give him a hug. I'd tell him he would never be alone. He said nobody cared about him, but I care."

I care about you. I care that you died.

I also want to tell him that this world can be beautiful, too. A ray of light will always come to brighten and warm your dark, frozen world.

tips:

1. Reverse transmigration, first-person POV, short slice-of-life story, Jason-centric

2. More about friendship and mutual healing than romance. Two unhappy kids huddling together for warmth. Please forgive my limited writing skills.

3. I recommend you run and don't read this (rebellious)

4. This blurb is from the 2021 version, which I've revised many times and still don't like

Theme: Mutual healing
