(Ace Attorney) I'd Rather Quit Lawyering

"Why did you want to become a lawyer?"

That was the first question my supervisor, Chihiro Ayasato, asked me when I started working at the Ayasato Law Offices.

Why did I want to become a lawyer? I remember staying silent for a long time before finally saying that I hoped evil would get what it deserved in the cases I handled, and that I could live with a clear conscience.

There really wasn't any other reason. When I was choosing a university major, I just wondered: if my mother had had a responsible defense attorney back then, would she have been wrongly convicted?

I thought being a lawyer might let me make up for some inexplicable regrets, but later I realized that even as a lawyer, I still couldn't bring back the people who mattered to me.

:).

I guess the world really is the thing that deserves to go to hell.

Tips:

1. The female lead is an original character and a native of this world, not someone who transmigrated. The only apparent love interests are Naruhodo and Mitsurugi. The main story may end with no couple, but if there is a romantic ending, it'll definitely be one-on-one. The author believes in pure love.

2. The story mainly covers Ace Attorney 1, 2, and 3. I probably won't get to 4, 5, and 6. It may have a slightly high degree of originality. The protagonist isn't a law student, and the courtroom system is based on the original Ace Attorney. Please be patient with any professional inaccuracies.

3. The protagonist has a special ability, somewhat like the Ayasato family's spirit channeling, but with a different system. It's just for fun.

4. This will be a short story, and hopefully not too long. This is a niche fandom, so I'm doing some research and trying out shifts between first- and third-person narration.
