Synopsis:
A sanctimonious, scheming, petty senior brother X a useless, innocent, naturally airheaded junior sister
Ruan Chichi transmigrates into a book, and the System tells her to redeem the story's villain, Qi Wuchen.
That's easy. Having read the plot, Ruan Chichi knows Qi Wuchen is just a pitiful little thing with an unhappy childhood who longs to be loved.
Ruan Chichi tailors her approach to him, and even enlists the gentle and considerate Senior Brother Xiao Xuanling to help.
The first day the junior brother joins the sect:
Ruan Chichi brings him a new outfit she made herself to cheer him up. But when she unfolds the clothes, she sees a dozen or more gaping holes scattered across them.
The boy in his tattered clothes darkens his expression.
The scene is incredibly awkward.
Luckily, Senior Brother Xiao Xuanling steps in to save her: "Junior Sister, he doesn't like it. Put it away."
The second day the junior brother joins the sect:
Ruan Chichi sees someone picking on Qi Wuchen and seizes the chance to stand up for him, only to accidentally step on the person on the ground.
The boy, bruised all over, silently withdraws his hand, then clenches it into a fist at his side.
Ruan Chichi thinks he's about to take revenge and backs away in fright.
Senior Brother Xiao Xuanling, dressed in white as pristine as snow, strolls forward. He raises a hand to send the other disciples away, his gentle face smiling like a spring breeze. "Junior Sister, fighting is forbidden within the sect."
The Nth day the junior brother is in the sect:
Ruan Chichi looks at the darkened, rampaging Qi Wuchen and knows this is the best chance to break through his defenses. So she packs her little bundle, ready to run away with him.
But the usually dignified, composed, amiable, and refined Senior Brother suddenly goes mad.
His eyes, usually full of smiles, are now wild and vicious. The corners of his lips, usually curved in a springlike smile, twist into a cold sneer. Blood drips from the immaculate white sword he always carries. His black hair flies in the wind, and behind him lies a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. He looks like a demon from the depths of hell.
Yet when he speaks to her, his voice is even gentler than before. "Junior Sister, why can't you show me a little affection?"
Ruan Chichi looks at the bewitching, slightly aggrieved person before her, swallows, and hesitantly asks:
"But Senior Brother, you come from a distinguished family, your parents love each other, your master favors you, you're gifted, popular, and exceptionally handsome. What's there to pity?"
His bright, gemlike eyes flicker. His red lips part, and he murmurs softly in her ear: "No. There is one thing, because Junior Sister refuses to pity me..."
Ruan Chichi: ...That still doesn't mean you can go from being the male lead to the villain.
