Do you believe there is meaning in waiting? Do you believe you can end up marrying your first love?

Gu Jiu'an believes it. But this year marks her twenty-seventh year of being single since birth, and she has already given wedding gifts to everyone around her. Her “waiting” still hasn't paid off.

“That's not right,” her best friend says, astonished. “Since middle school, you've been the dream girl of half the boys in your class. Even if the Matchmaker had given you a steel bar, it should have been ground down to a needle by now!”

Gu Jiu'an angrily eats a bag of her colleague's wedding candy, then a second bag...

The next day, her long-dormant toothache strikes again. With no choice, she covers half her face and rushes to the dentist. After leaving the clinic, she messages her best friend: “It looks like the Matchmaker's steel bar has finally delivered my steel bar.”
