After the Immortal Lord Cut Out My Core

[Old embarrassing work! Old embarrassing work! The setting is melodramatic and old-fashioned, the plot is weak, and my writing isn't great either since this was my first novel. I can't lock the story because it's behind a paywall, so I can only beg anyone who isn't prepared for these tropes not to read it. Also, if you insist on reading despite the warnings and end up hitting a landmine, please don't yell at me, okay? The pinned warning is very clear. I turned off the comments simply because the plot is melodramatic and I spent a year being hounded and cursed at by people with extreme opinions. For your sake, mine, and everyone's, it's best not to read this story.] [Also, I wrote this story idea only because I'm a bad writer with an itch to write. I spent a year and a half trying to get a contract on Jinjiang without success, so I threw together the most attention-grabbing opening I could think of as a last-ditch effort. That's all. Please don't judge my values based on anything problematic that appears in the story. Thank you for understanding.] *Story blurb* (Warning: melodramatic groveling arc) A thousand years ago, the fox demon Jun Yao was rescued from the flames of war by the Heavenly God Chenyuan. From then on, she innocently fell deeply in love with him. But she never expected that after a thousand years by Chenyuan's side, her reward would be having her demon core ripped out on her birthday and being thrown from the Execution Immortal Platform. Only then did Jun Yao understand that she was nothing but a tool to be discarded once she was no longer useful. She had loved the wrong person and suffered every humiliation imaginable. Even when she lay dying on the ground, covered in blood, Chenyuan was still with the one he loved. Chenyuan's heart was so cold that it froze Jun Yao's heart solid. After having her core ripped out twice, Jun Yao was rescued by the Demon Lord. It turned out she was a princess of the demon clan. In the demon realm, her elder brother doted on her endlessly. She went from a useless demon to a demon cultivator with boundless power, and even a Heavenly God wouldn't dare act recklessly in front of her. Jun Yao thought: I'll make Chenyuan experience my pain for himself! She didn't even blink when she drove her sword into Chenyuan's heart. She would never show mercy! But when Chenyuan saw Jun Yao again, gazing tenderly at someone else, his heart felt as though it had been hollowed out. Only then did the normally aloof and heartless Chenyuan awaken to the truth: he had always loved Jun Yao. His self-righteous assumptions had been utterly and absurdly wrong. From then on, he accepted it whenever Jun Yao hit or scolded him, and handed over anything she wanted. But after waiting until the very end, he learned that Jun Yao was going to marry someone else. Chenyuan abandoned every last shred of dignity and even offered up his life to make amends, asking only that Jun Yao forgive him. Jun Yao: Is something wrong with you? Heavenly God: Yes. I'm lovesick. *Cover art used with permission from Qixi Lou-Yujie Fang. Not exclusive. Theme: If you fall into darkness, become your own light and illuminate the way ahead.
