The Emperor Was Forced to Marry by His Aloof Chancellor

On the night before his coronation, Chu Huaiyu had a dream. In the dream, he ignored the opposition of his entire court, forcibly married the man he cherished, and drove Xue Qingmiao, the prime minister, into becoming his male empress. Chu Huaiyu basked in the peace and prosperity of his kingdom. Until the Xue clan assembled a private army and forced their way into the palace to seize the throne. Chu Huaiyu woke to Xue Qingmiao's eyes, full of hatred. In reality, none of it had happened yet. Chu Huaiyu did his best to avoid following the path of his dream. He repeatedly reminded himself to observe the proper boundaries between ruler and subject with Xue Qingmiao. He thought that if he kept this up, he could bring things to a good end, and Xue Qingmiao would become a renowned statesman. But, unbeknownst to him, Xue Qingmiao secretly confiscated all the portraits of eligible women that the great clans intended to present to the emperor. Later, when Chu Huaiyu discovered the truth, he remembered everything from his dream and mocked Xue Qingmiao for being a power-hungry prime minister, second only to the emperor. He blamed himself for failing to see Xue Qingmiao's ambition. One day after court, the prime minister, always upright and proper in the eyes of outsiders, lost control and pinned Emperor Chu to the dragon throne. "I can't bear to see you be close to anyone else, Your Majesty. You know what I want..." Chu Huaiyu suddenly understood. "I see. I have no heirs, so Prime Minister Xue can make himself emperor after seizing power." Xue Qingmiao looked at him with an impassive expression, the same look he had worn in the dream, and pulled open the belt of his imperial robe. "You will have an heir. I'll bear one for you." "...Your Majesty, allow me to attend to you tonight." Chu Huaiyu thought Prime Minister Xue had gone mad. How could a man possibly get pregnant? He began demoting Xue Qingmiao and stripping him of his power. Until one day, Emperor Chu's belly slowly began to swell...
