Not everything is as pure and spotless as a blank sheet of paper. To be unstained, everything must be reset and begun anew. From childhood games and scuffles, to graduation ceremonies as teenagers, to going their separate ways and entering the adult world, they have faced one contest after another. Only after experiencing growth, backgrounds, relationships, worldly pressures, trauma, and loss do we realize that we are all searching for an answer called peace.
Only when we stand on the same ground can we understand what it means to forgive, and what it means not to. This is the patter of raindrops, drop after drop: each one makes light of the past, describes the end of the road, and asks how something can emerge from the mud without being stained. All of it rests upon the scales, kept balanced at every moment. So none of you are failures called monsters. You are only searching for an answer called peace. Sikong: "I want to save them, to help them escape from there." Teng Yuqiu: "They are rotten fruit grown from rotten roots. The fruit ripens, falls to the ground, takes root and sprouts, and repeats the cycle, never knowing rest."
