First Love

Xia Yi has liked Zhou Yuanche ever since high school. When she learns that he has someone else in his heart, she quietly buries her feelings.

Years later, Xia Yi goes on a blind date and discovers that her date is none other than Zhou Yuanche.

Just as arrogant and rakish as he was in his youth, he looks at her with an amused smile. "Long time no see, little stutterer."

After spending some time together, Xia Yi realizes she still likes Zhou Yuanche. Finally, she gathers her courage and asks carefully, "Do you want to get married?"

Zhou Yuanche sits there for a long time, the burning ash from his cigarette scorching his fingertips. He slowly tugs at his collar and raises an eyebrow. "To you?"

Thinking he still hates her like he did in high school, Xia Yi lowers her head, hiding her reddened eyes.

But then he gets up and says nonchalantly, "Sure."

Zhou Yuanche grins at her, all casual swagger. "Let's go home and get your household registration booklet. I'll take you to get married."

Xia Yi: Huh?

-

At a get-together, Xia Yi's childhood friend drinks too much.

He slaps Zhou Yuanche on the shoulder, slurring, "Nice one, buddy. You finally got to marry your one true love."

Xia Yi thinks she must have misheard.

But the next second, she sees Zhou Yuanche leaning lazily in a corner, flicking ash from his cigarette as he gives her childhood friend a sidelong glance. "That's right."

"Jealous?" he drawls. "You single loser?"

Her childhood friend: ???

Xia Yi: "..."
