Gu Ye was an ordinary graduate student. Her daily routine consisted of attending required and elective classes and doing work for her advisor. Her life was extremely uneventful.
If there was anything special about it, it was her energetic boyfriend, Song Yang.
They were clearly different in their majors, personalities, and daily lives. Gu Ye was a cool, aloof top student. If she stopped talking, not a blade of grass would grow for miles around her.
Song Yang, on the other hand, was a ray of sunshine from the physical education department.
Everyone thought they were a poor match. Eventually, even Gu Ye began to notice how different they were.
So they broke up.
Gu Ye thought her life would go on being ordinary forever, until her ordinary university turned into an infinite survival-game university.
All the university courses became escape games, complete with midterms, finals, quizzes, and participation grades. Fail, and you died.
In the classroom, Gu Ye held a paper in one hand and a sheet of scratch paper in the other, watching in confusion as the professor before her slowly turned into a monster.
Just when Gu Ye was all alone and helpless, the only light in her life, Song Yang, returned.
